Default Can you straighten twisted recurve limbs

I recently bouht a bear Kodiak Magnum and the top limb is slightly twisted. I've heard of a "hot water " method to straighten them, does anyone know of this or any other method to do this? THANKS-Hunteron60

Them Bear Kodiak's are good for that. Yep I've done the hot water method. Sometimes its worked, other times it hasn't. Allot of times from my experiences anyway there isn't much you can do about it.

I'm sure some other guys on here will have some other methods. It would be nice to know for myself also.

I use the hot water method alot on my old bow and it works for the season.I have heard of guys using a heatgun on them also. The trick is to go way paststraight and hold it until it is cool. When you relax it hopefully it will bestraight.Like Schultzy said some time it works and sometimes it don't.

Thanks for the help guys, this bow(50#)is otherwise in excellent condition. I sure would like to use it at a few shoots this summer to help build back up to my hunter(68#)that I haven't used for about 6 months and then pass it on to my 16 year old son. If I can't straighten it, can it besafely shot with a slight twist with noill effects. I've been lucky enough to not have to deal with twisted limbs until now! I've had my "Quillian Special" for 25 years and haven't needed much else.

I myself wouldn't want my kid shooting it if the limbs were twisted. I might do it but I'd feel terrible if my kid shot it and the limb went crazy with the bow pulled back.
