Default Just Got My Bow!

My PSE Impala just came today from the Ebay purchase I made and I'm happy. How do you set the nocking point on a recurve shooting off a Bear Hair rest on the shelf? I'm using a split finger release and I'm pulling about 47 lbs.

Find an article about bare shaft tuning for trad bows. It would be much easier to tune with a set of instructions in hand. As for you nock, it depends on tiller and finger placement. A good bare shaft article would address it as well. A safebet would be to set your knock a bit high for three fingers under, or on for split fingers. I say that because most bows are tillered for split fingers. I tiller all my bows for split finger, unless other wise requested.

Congratulations! I'd suggest setting it about 1/2" over 90 degrees for now. Shoot it a while and have fun!

Here's the most comprehensive instructions I've found for tuning a traditional bow/arrow. http://www.alaskabowhunting.com/tuni...f58f384d692365

I'm printing it out as we speak..BTW, the first time I shot it this afternoon was better thanI thought. I eventually got out to 20 yards and was getting about 8-10 inch 3 arrow groups and only slapped my arm a few times.
