Default Colorado Elk Hunt

I just signed up for a semi-guided elk hunt in Montrose, CO. I' m Pumped! It' s on a combination of private and public land. The public access to this area is very difficult and we shouldn' t see anyone. Last year the outfitters archery customers killed 9 elk within 800 yards of camp. Any left? This is the first time we will be using an outfitter and I' m looking forward to a roof over my head, showers, and home cooked meals. What' s not to like! Dick

Shaky,
I booked my hunt through: Western Colorado Outfitters. Gordon Blay is the owner. Now I' ve never booked with himbefore but we checked out his references and everyone of them were not only positive but pumped about going back. This includes those who didn' t get an Elk. This area also has some of the largest mulies in the state too. Maybe I' ll start packing now! Dick

Dick

Is that an open unit???

I' ve hunted around the Flat Top Wilderness area but it' s been a few years ago. Think it was unit 24, there were four units that come together on that mountain.

Since you' re going right by my house......

good hunting
