Default What kind of weight are you guys pullin' ?

Here I am with a bad shoulder thinking about moving up in weight [:-] My shoulder is getting much stronger by the day and shot a few good rounds last night before it started bothering me...

I'm ready to move up, just not sure how far up I should go.... I've traditionally stayed in the 50# range only b/c I like to hunt and shoot 3-D with the same bow... I've all but given up on 3-D and I'm wanting to move up into a heavier bow.... I found one I like, but it would be 60# at my draw [:@]

Anyway, just wondering what you guys are pulling on your hunting bows.

My zipper is 60#, and my longbows and recurves are 50#. I also have a 36# recurve, that is great for practicing release and things.

The Bow is 55@28 so I gess I'm pulling about 53 with my draw lenght at 27.5. I can draw and hold that no problem.

Longbow is 66#, selfbow is 66-67#, recurve is 58#. I shoot tournaments, play, and hunt with the longbow and selfbow, mostly bowfish with the recurve but may shoot a tournament or two with it this year.

However, the most accurate archer I know shoots in the low-mid 40's.

My bow is 50# @ 28" and my DL is 27.5" so I'm just under 50#.

58# at my draw of 27. BUT I think I've inched up a little as I am getting used to the weight. I bet I am 27.5" draw now.

I haven't hunted with anything over 50# in the last 6 years. My current hunting rig pulls 48# at my draw length. Season before last, I used 46# of draw weight to put down a decent size doe. Arrow went in one side and out the other.

61# on myrecurve and most likely 56-57# on my longbow both right around 30-30.5" draw

That's about all I want, those weights on each bow allow me more than enough for anythingI want to hunt but I don't feel the urgency to get rid of the string. At some point I could actually see myself dropping a little weight thanks to my long draw length.

For now all is good though and I am very comfrotable with that weight.
