Default Chek mate owners please

I didn' t get any responce on the 56" hunter so I thought I would try again. I am looking at the 58" hunter and the 56" hunter. I had a firebird and the hunter II and they were good bows but I don' t care for the high wrist grip. Are the hunter and 56" hunter more of a medium grip or the same as the hunter II. I thought the firebird and hunter II were a little loud, especilly the firebird, and took some time to quiet down. I am looking at either or both of these bows or going with....well....well a custom grip Black Widow SA III which will cost 3 times as much as a Chek Mate. I have 2 Assenheimer 60" takedowns right now and think they have the best grip I have ever used and are super quiet but I like to shoot between 45-50 at about 27" , and could use a little more ump.( I try not to use the dreaded word speed[]) Any help would be GREATLY appricated. Don

You can order the Hunter with pretty much whatever grip you want. You can get the Hunter II and Firebird grips modified, but due to the riser design it can only be so much. The Firebird (pretty much like any short bow) can be finicky about brace height and silencer placement. Personally, Im prefer the 58" , but I am not much of a referance as I can' t shoot short bows very well at all with my draw.

Hi Don Being that i am a check-mate fan I have a firebird a 56" hunter and a 58" hunter II and a pair of falcons.I prefer my 56" hunter but find that i can interchange between bows without any problem as they all have basically the same feel to them.I have not noticed any of them being hard to quiet down though.I use beaver balls and make my own endless loop strings from dyna 97.I have never shot an assenheimer even though he only lives 30 miles from me so can' t make a comparison.Good luck with your choice
