About the same as compound IMO. Draw arm parrellel with arrow, bow shoulder down, head inline with body(no leaning back or forward), not entirely gripping the handle, but not as loose as a compound. Longbows with low wrist is going to have a different arm position than say a bow with high wrist.

Also other open items that are person, is the stance, open or close, and head lean.

Now, that is a hunched over form. But he is stretching it out. Goes to show, you got to find your way.

You could watch a 100 differant archers and see a 100 differant forms.Everybody is differant-height,facial structure, body shape, etc.Find what works and feels right for you and as long as you're consistant with every shot(and accurate),who's to say what's proper

While you can watch 100different archers and see many different variations in form, the ones youwant to be concerned aboutare the ones who are shooting consistantly well. Anyone can have a great day every now and then, but that doesn't mean what they're doing is necessarily good. If you watch those individuals who are good consistant shooters, you'll see more similarities and consistanciesthan you will variations among the shootersin that group.Though you can vary certain aspects of stance, and anchor point to accomidate body structure and facial structure, there are other aspects of shooting form thatcan't be compromised,if you want to shoot well on a consistant basis.Good, solid alignment and properfollow through are critical to good shooting. I borrowed the following pictures from Terry Green over on Tradgang.com

Those pictures are a good example of how things should be lined up.All he has to do now is maintain good back tension and relax his string hand to send the arrow on it's way.
