Default Do you make your own strings?

Im asking because im trying to figure out what most people prefer, that would be of the more traditional strings (or as much as can be with dacron 50);

full flemish string with loops on both ends, or
flemish with a bowers knot or a timber hitch on the other end.

I make my own strings from Dyna 97 (fast flight type string) and in flemish twist.

Over the years I've made several thousand, mostly flemish. I don't think I've had 1/2 dozen people ask for one end to be left loose (for a bowyer's knot). Never used a bowyer's knot on my personal strings.

I haven't bought a bowstring in 20 yr. Theyhave all beenflemish twist, dacron, and have loops at both ends. If you can make a loop on one end, it's no chore to finish with a loop on the other. The second loop locks the string together.

I make my own Flemish strings. Flemish strings are more durable at the loops because they have twice as much material at the loops and you can use different colors. I learned how to make Flemish strings by buying a DVD with LBR as one of the guys teaching how to make strings. I use mostly Dacron but also use Fast Flight and Xcel.

I make my own these days. I've got both a flemish string jig and an endless loop jig. The recurves get endless loops strings.My longbows and selfbows get flemish strings, mostly.

Actually, my 12 year old son makes a better flemish string then me (dacron).He only used the bowers knot for measuring up the string. I don't have the patience and would rather leave that to the pros.

I was curious because the last three string Ive made people they have requested a loose end for either a timber hitch or bowers knots. I use tember hitches with my tiller strings and only on one end, that way I can go from a long tiller string and shorten it as I go, but never wanted to use one for my bows. I didnt know if this was a new trend or something.
