Default going to the knuckle

Im thinking of getting a long bow and learn to shoot off the knuckle. Any advice?

YOu'll need to have a good reference point for your hand to be placed everytime. I know a guy that has an extra leather wrap on his bow for this purpose. Super important is to have the right arrow spine. Also, make sure you have the correct helical on your arrow especially if you are not going to wear a glove. An extra drop of glue on the front of the fletching will also help you to not get cut.

I recommend Ferret's Floppy Arra Rest instead of going right off your knuckle. Instructions here:

Another idea, on my son's selfbow, I formed a small piece of deer antler to the bow for a rest. All natural and works well for him.
