First Trad Buck

WELL IT FINALLY HAPPENED!!![/align]Is started hunting with traditional bows in 1999 and have always had something go wrong at the last second to mess me up on connecting on a bow buck!! Well after several does, hogs, and a mtn lion, my bow buck jinx was broken!!!! [/align][/align]I got out of the college at 2pm today and headed for the woods. Nice 48degrees crisp day. I used a grunt and bleat sequence every 15-20 minutes while on stand without any response, until I made one last bleat and started packing my Cat Quiver to leave and heard something running thru the leaves towards my stand!!![/align]I readied for a shot and here he comes. He stops behind my tree and tries to catch a doe scent, I thought it was over until he turned and walked past my stand in the direction I was turned and cut into my shooting lane. I had put some estrous scent out and I think it caused him to hang around a little longer looking for the doe that was smelling so good. [/align]He stepped into my lane and at 12 yards I drew my 50# Kantilongbow and released my 550gr goldtip arrow with a 150gr WW head!! He turned to flee at the sound of the bow and I caught him square in the neck. I marked where I last saw him and left to run home and get a better light and give him some time. It was unneeded. I went to where I last saw him and with a good light found blood. It looked as though it had been poured out of a bucket. I trailed him for 125yards and there he lay!!![/align]My first bow buck. He is a small frame 5 point, has a nice big body and will make lots of meat!![/align]I will get some pics out tomorrow, Iam feeling that tired that goes with a successful hunt!!!![/align]
