Default Sneak'in around

Anyone tried hunting in moccassins. Not the fluffy ones, I'm talk'in the primitive ones with no liner, just deerskin around yur feet. I know they'd be far from scent free but I think the benefit of silence while stalking downwind will outweigh that. Saw some made by a guy named Carl Dyer. Anyone have experience with these?

I stalk using moccassins made by footskins. Knee high, very soft and quiet. Sometimes I have success, other times I get busted. I mostly stalk when there is a steady wind. Alway's when it is raining or a drizzle. It takes a lot of practice.

I stalked withing 30 yards of 4 doe this past Saturday. All was going great until the wind shifted. 1/2 a second later all 4 looked right at me. Couldn't recover after that. Still hunting is a great way to spend the day in the woods. And a lot funner than sitting in a stand all day.

I agree. I have a pair that I got for christmas. I haven't had a chance to use them yet but I do like stalking. I still need to condition them somehow. PA, what do you suggest.I was going to use some "NEET's Foot Oil" but it has a really strong unnatural smell.

A bad day in the woods is still better than a good day at work.

A cheep wax toilet ring. Pick one up for 2 bucks at your local hardware store. Melt it and apply a thin coat to the leather. Works great and no smell.
