Default Bear bows

Does anyone have any feed back on Bear bows, in particular the Kodiak Magnum, Cheyenne and the Grizzly? I am interested in a shorter one piece recurve. I would appreciate any input.

I have a new Fred Bear takedown 55# with the "B" handle and I love it. I originally looked at the Kodiak Magnum but friends talked me out of it. They said I would like the option of interchangable limbs. The thing shoots smooth and wisper quiet.

Shorter recurves are not as smooth to shoot as the longer ones. You get finger pinch because of the shorter limbs and they tend to stack. As far as the Bear models, they have been making bows for a long time. They are well made and are a good bow for the money. The Kodiak is a pretty nice bow, the flagship of the line.

Of the ones I've shot, I like the older ones a lot better than the new ones, even though you can't use FF type materials on the old ones.

Chad, you are not the first one that I've heard saying that. How old are you talking about?

Bear took their traditional line off the market some time ago--in the early 70's maybe? Anyhow, they brought it back....well shoot.......late 80's or early 90's, I think. The ones I call "new" are the ones that were re-introduced after they'd been off the market. I haven't shot nearly all of them, but really don't care to based on the ones I have shot.
