Yup.. What BobCo said. On longbows unstring them. I wouldn't want toleave a strung bow around the house anyway for safety purposes. Also, you have to consider if you are driving in a car or truck, in most states the bow must be unstrung. There is no difference... IMO,between a strung bow and a loaded gun. Just ask anyone who has ever had a bow limb slip on them while stringing or unstringing. I did once... only a 45# bow, the upper limb whacked me across my chest and shoulder, I was black and blue for several days. Heard of a gentlemen on antoher forum, that had a limb slip and he lost an eye!Be careful.
PS... I wouldn't want any non-archers around the house dry firing my longbow either.
