Default Check-Mate Atilla opinions

I was looking at the Chack-Mate Atilla and was wondering if any body on here has any experience with them, good or bad.

If you like that style bow (50's style recurve), IMO it's as good as any. Grip is very comfortable, smaller than most any of the other CM recurves, but not a broom-handle grip either. It's only cut to center, not past like the rest of their recurves, so it won't be quite as forgiving of arrow spine. At 56", it's not a bow I'd recommend for a long draw or a serious tournament archer, but just dandy for ground blinds, pop-up blinds, tree stands, or other tight spots.

I haven't shot one that much (too short for my 30.5" draw--finger pinch is a bugger), but have heard good reviews.

I shot chek-mate bows for 18 years and I've never had a problem with them. I have a 70" one right now. It's something of a collectors but regardless of that, the bow shoots with a smooth action and more than manageable recoil. Great for tart & FITA but not so much for 3D. A bit cumbersome. Kicks out arrows @ 165 FPS and develops 41 pounds at 28 inches. You could do a lot worse than buying a chek.
