Default brace height?

I'm sure it's been asked many times before but how do I determine the correct brace height for my recurve. after comparing my other bows to my new one I think its too short. I am still having trouble with noise. on my other bows the limb tips are almost in line with the string but my new one the tips are pointed considerably forward, I dont know if this means anything. Thanks for any help you may give. I shoot a 52 inch 50 lb kodiak mag.

Default RE: brace height?

I base my braceheight on how the arrow flies. There is a spot where it just seems to fly much better. It varies on any of my bows.

Play around with it! For trad bows i think the base starting point is anywhere from 7'' to 8 1/2''. There are sweet spots where it will shoot for you best and shoot the arrow you are using best.

Measure the brace height from the deepest part of the riser to the string. Bear's usually start at 7 3/4" to 8 1/2". If it is making a lot of noise, it is too low. Make sure you are shooting an arrow heavy enough for it as well.
