Default How Many of You.......

Increase your draw length from when you first start shooting? I have been shooting my new bow for a week, about 50 arrows a day. When I first started shooting it, I was drawing 27 1/2", and it was pretty darn tough to hit my anchor point.
Today I noticed that my anchor point is coming much easier now, and my draw is 28-28 1/2" now. Is this normal? Maybe some unused muscles were getting a workout, and are now more comfortable in what they are doing?
I know, I know, when is this guy gonna quit asking stupid questions.

On a lighter note, I have now ruined 3 arrows with broken nocks and split shafts. I guess I need an extension on the basement for a longer range. My daughter is really liking this bow too. She is "Arrow Girl" and likes to pull the arrows out of the bag target, and tell me what dot to shoot at. I get a big round of applause for a bullseye. What a confidence builder.

My draw length increased dramatically the first few years I was shooting. Of course, I was 3 years old when I started....

But you're right. As you get into it and shoot some, those muscles get stronger and can handle the draw weight better, so your draw length does increase until you hit your true length.

Yep--what Arthur said. Also, you are still developing your own form/style, and it may change again over time (mine has a few times over the years). Nothing to worry about.

BTW, not a stupid question at all! Man, I wish I had been able to ask some questions when I started out--would have saved me a whole lot of grief!

Been shooting for about 5 months now and my draw has increased by about 1". I'm still using the same anchor point so I suspect it has something to do with the fact that I'm learning how to use back tension.
