Default Do they make affordable quivers?

Looking thru some sites for back preferably or hip quivers for this fall....holy cow they are pricey. I don't want one on my bow, but I'm not paying $100+ for a quiver.
Any tips at finding deals?
I don't care that it is pretty or handmade or anything like that.

I bought a nice leather back quiver from e-bay. It is pretty old. I payed $35. The 1st time I took it to the woods the arrows all fell out when the thread holding it together unraveled. I have to restich or glue it back together now. caveat emptor![:@]

The short answer is no, quivers have gotten ridiculous! Sometimes you can pick up a used one at tradgang for $50 or so.. Most new are running right at $100....

Leather ain't cheap and it takes a good bit to make a quiver. I've got a cordura back quiver I got on the cheap from Cabelas I think, but it's not very good. The barrel of it is real stiff and lets the arrows rattle around too much. Plus it's hotter'n blue blazes to wear on a warm day. Leather is much better.

What you might try is hit a few flea markets. Sometimes you can find someone who threw out an old leather chair or sofa and saved the leather off of it to sell. Get the leather, track down a pattern you like on the internet and make your own.

I have seen a more modern type made by Vista. It is camo and has fleece inside and a fleece shoulder strap. It has a spot for a take down recurve on the front of it, and it runs about $75.00. I don't know if your willing to pay that or not, but I think whenI get my bow I may give it a try. Good Luck.

I was trying to be nice and not say it right out but Redneck is forcing my hand ....

O ok. I re-read your post and there is no wayI could have known that. I see how it could be really hot and stiff. Are you happy with it?

It does a great job sitting in the corner of the garage, storing a few dozen spare arrows.

I really don't like it much. You can't bend over to pick up an arrow without 4-5 more falling out. It lets them rattle around and that's not good for a hunting quiver. Also, it's heavier than it needs to be, heavier than any leather one I've ever used. About the only time I really use it is for those late winter/early spring 3D shoots when it's damp and cold. Otherwise, I use my fox hide dress-up quiver.

I always switch to a hip or pocket quiver in the summer though.

Ok. Thanks, I guess I won't purchase it based on that. I guess my next option would be to get a bow quiver because I don't like the hip quiver ones for hunting.
