Default Dipping and cresting aluminums??

I would like to add a personal touch to my aluminum arrows. The dipping and cresting is pretty self explanatory but what do you use if anything to seal over the crown and crests?and how far do you seal past the end of your crown dip? Hope that question makes some sense.
Thanks

Default RE: Dipping and cresting aluminums??

Myself I use the fletchlac clear blue to seal my cresting job. From what I understand the clear blue is made for covering other colored lacquers. I tried just plain clear once and it smeared my fine black lines as well as the other colors, almost like it was a thinner. Secondly I usually dip the clear blue just past the crest paints to insure the entire crest is sealed.
