Default RE: ? on bow setup for bear

Tim, Good advice from Shrewshooter. If your draw is 28" or better, I'd recommend a good 3 blade like the WW or Snuffer for a better blood trail. Bears are not hard to kill with a well placed arrow with some weight to it. Whatever broadhead you use, be sure it will take hair off your arm! I just posted a couple good bear adventures on my site if you want to look at them: http://www.bowmaker.net/sucess.htm

I beleave that shot selection is as/or more important than what you are going to shoot at the bear with(within reason).Shot in the right spot(lung/heart)a bear is pretty easy to kill. They don't seem to go as far as a deer shot in similar spots.Your bow of 50lbs is ampell.Any 2 or 3 bld cut on contact b-head that is very ,very sharp will do a good job in putting a bear down very quickly.Just remember to wait for the shot you want, and don't be dissapointed if the bear leaves without giving you a shot,he will most likely return in a few minutes, just wait him out.Bill
