Default Split or three fingers under?

I tried to shoot with three fingers under and find myself more accurate and consitant. The big question is if the bow is not tillered for three fingers under what happens? If the bow is tillered for split fingers and it is a take down bow can the limbs be shimmed? Arrow flight seems fine even with bare shafts. Can someone enlighten me?

Default RE: Split or three fingers under?

Chek-Mate did some testing to answer this question some years ago. They had a "pro" shooter test a bow that was tillered for split, one that was tillered for 3-under, and one tillered upside-down (basicly, for 3-over). After tuning, he was just as accurate with one as the other. The only difference they observed was a bow can be a little noisier if tillered for 3-under and shot split (or vice-versa). it won't damage the bow, but you will probably have to make adjustments to the nock set, silencer placement, etc. if you switch from one to the other.

I have shot 3 under for 20 years..cleaner release..moves hand under eye..feels funny at first but after you get used to it ..you'll never go back..I won Oklahoma State Champion 3 years in a row..also some dry silicone on your glove makes for a very clean release..still got to have form..follow through..& see your arrow hit your mark before you ever let go!! Hope I helped..
