Default firts time shed hunter

today i was fishing about a mile away from my cabin and i noticed on shore thatthere was a shed ive never shed hunted but when i got onto shore to get this shed i noticed lots of scrapes and trails what would be the best way to draw this buck towards my cabin

Cool! It is always awesome to find your first shed antler. If that buck is only a mile away from your cabin, I wouldn't try to draw him any closer. Around a month or so before season I'd scout that spot out with binocs at early morning and dusk to find that bucks feeding pattern. If you figure that out, then set a stand or ground blind on a travel route and try to catch him on it. Keep your human scent to a minimum in the area as much as possible!

I'd also go back to the area you found the shed in and look for the other side. Good luck!

oh yeah a cam would help to hang in that area as long as it is not right in his bedding area to push him away, place it right along a trail there or near the rubs and scrapes and maybe get some photos of him at different times to help piece the puzzle together.
