Default Bow protection

Anyone put anything on the limbs to protect their bow from marring and scratching in the field? If so, does it effect performance at all??

How about holders or scabbards for the too and from??

I used to bang the heck out of my compound, but didn't really care as it seemed to add "character". With my new longbow, however, I'd hate to mar up that sweet looking finish.

Default RE: Bow protection

I usually just use a tip protector on the bottom limb just to keep the tip protected when I lean the bow on against something. I don't believe it effects performance at all, but it's also always on. I may use a sock on my Schulz longbow this year if I take it out hunting since it has a polished finish on it. If I go that route I'll be sure to practice with the sock on it for a while.
