Default Pro Shop Help?

Just curious. When I was younger and started shooting compounds I always went to the same shop (Dominion Archery & Tackle, VA Beach) and got a great start. After a couple of years my compound shooting had really progressed and I would get bored andshoot some of the recuves/longbows in the shop for fun. I ended up getting a recurve alsoand one of the shop owners, Tom Schanbacker, was very knowledgeable about traditional gear and super helpful.

Well that was about 17 years ago(give or take) and since that time the shop has closed andMr. Schanbacker unfortunately has passed away.

Long story short: with my compounds I don't need too much help but with my traditional gear(I just recently took it back up) I am still of minimal knowledge in regards to a lot of the technical aspects and the shopI currently go to, while it is still a very nice shop, doesn't reallypush a lot of traditional stuffor seem to be to interested in it unless I am ordering arrows. So without a knowledgable source to tap into(other thanthe random traditional guy in the shop and of course HNI) I was looking for recommendationsas far as books, video/dvd, etc that might be helpful in regards to the technical side of things as well as shooting form tips, practicing, etc.

Default RE: Pro Shop Help?

I'd recommend Byron Ferguson's Book and Videos. Also Welch Vol II, anything by Schulz, Masters of the Barebow and Instinctive Archery Inisghts by Jay Kidwell revised addition.
