Default Whats the Deal with Zipper

I have met Bob (original maker) of zipper bows at certain events. I guess he sold the company? Are the new zippers not as good?

Zipper is probably my favorite recurve takedown. I always wanted one. Just never got around to it.

There are several bows I would like to own. I would like to own a yew longbow one day (trying to work that out now), I wouldn't mind to try to build my own hickory bow on a build along. And a nice zipper would be nice.

Soon, I might be up there with Bob on here.

I shot some Zippers last year at Denton Hill-I think Bob was still helping the new owners getting started but they looked and shot great.I used to have a Zipper Extreme. That was just one of those bows that ya wished ya never got rid of.

BTW,Zipper will be at the Baltimore Classic this year again

I just see some people tout that thier zipper was made while Bob was there. Didn't know what that mattered. I thought maybe the new owner was doing something different.

I just about purchases an extreme curly maple riser and 60lb limbs last year with elk accents. Bob, insisted I take it over the hill to shoot a few arrows. It was 900 dollars. I just can go that high. So I will have to buy the used ones. It was freakin fast however. I bet I was kicking my 500 grain arrows 200fps. It seemed much faster than my longbow, let me put that way. Also the wrist of it was awesome.

He about had me sold. Until I looked at my wife. And she had this look like she was going to kill me.

This was the Zipper Extreme I had.Bocote and curly maple riser with book-matched curly maple limbs. This bow was gorgeous and it shot great.I traded it for a bow that I couldn't hit anything with.I got rid of it the same week I got it(the bow I got on the trade).

The top is a Stotler Medalist recurve(really regret getting rid of that one too[:@])The green one is a Wes Wallace Stealth curve(it's not that bright a green)and the bottom is a Stahl recurve-bocote riser and bambbo limbs. That bow was a shooter but it was a bit too heavy.I don't have any of those recurves anymore
