Default Golden Key 2440 aluminum shafts

I say some of these at a local store - OMG !!

These shafts are MASSIVE. I have never even heard of these shafts before and picked one up today - the things must weigh 40 grains per inch - like 1200 grains for a 30 inch arrow ! What kind of bow shoots arrows like this ???

28.7 grains per inch - I looked it up. My 29 1/2 inch arrow weighs like 525 grains, this thig at 29 1/2 inches would weigh 846 grains WITHOUT a field point ! Massive ....

Danged hefty shafts. Do you happen to know what they spine at? Weight wise it sounds like it would take a 100+# bow to push them with any kind of authority.

I remember them making those for those crazy cape buff hunters and the like. That is one stiff arrow though. Probably need like a 100# compound and a heavy tip. Hey stealthy, you should do a Toxophiliac-foot on it. Jump up the weight on it. Lord knows it needs all it can get. Fill it with sand too, or lead.
I made an arrow a couple days ago at work that was a 2419 filled with 125 gr field tips. It weights about 3 pounds. I made an arrow that was super stiff and heavy about a year ago too. It was a 5575 Gold Tip filled with airgun bb's, stuck inside a 2114, then finally a 2315. It shot sideways out of a 87 pound High Country 4runner. It made a tear in paper bigger than the paper. You couldn't shoot it through without hitting th bars. It was hilllarious. Amazing what you wil do when bored. That'll teach em for giving me only 8 hours a week durring february. Or maybe that is why.....ohh well.

I wonder how these would work as a bowfishing arrow. Maybe a little lighter than a solid glass arrow. Good for making those long shots. How easy do they bend?

I looked them up on Golden Key's web site and I think they are like $16 a dozen - cheap arrows if they'd work for bow fishing ....
