Default Alternatives to turkey feather fletching?

Has anyone tried fletching their arrows with something other than turkey wing feathers? More specifically, has anyone tried goose feathers? I've been seriously looking at making my own arrows and have a ready source of goose feathers, both wild and domestic. The feather quills are wider and stiffer than turkey so I'm not sure how they would work.

Goose feathes will work just fine. I tried some and didn't care for them (Canada geese) because the feathers were softer and wore quicker, but some folks like them and at least one place (Raven Archery) even sells them.

Yeah, some people use goose because they claim it has better water resistance. I've heard of pheasant, goose feathers being used, and indians used to use eagle feathers.
