Default Finally did it....Sold my compound!!!!!!

Well the traditional bug has taken full hold. Once I came down with the Crusader virus, followed shortly thereafter by the Chad virus, I should of known I was a goner. Just traded my brand new, less than 6 month old Hoyt Ultratec compound and all the associated gadgets, for a another longbow. I'm now compound free. My future success rest on my ability to shoot the longbow!!!!! Chad I took your advice, as the doctor said there was nothing he could do for a virus, and traded for a different longbow. Got a Gharing Archery, 64&quot; 55# @ 28&quot; cocobola riser with walnut and elm limb cores, six laminations of sassafrass and horn limb tips. Should get it early next week. I'm also trying to work a deal for another bow<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> This forum is evil<img src=icon_smile_evil.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> Thanks for all the advice so far.

you wont regret it one bit! You might however want to hire a Doc real quick like as the bug only gets worse as time goes by!

Yep. That's the way the disease starts. It got hold of me when I was just a little tyke and now, nearly 48 years later, it hasn't started to ease up in the least. The trad bug just gets stronger over time and weakens your resistance to other related diseases as well. Arrow making, leatherwork (making your own quivers, armguards and such), string making, rescuing and repairing old, mistreated bows... Then the big stuff hits - making your own bows (to avoid bankruptcy if nothing else)! <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Just cleaned out the rest of my compound stuff. Wow can you collect alot of stuff! Sending it off to trade for some traditional stuff. The collection begins again. Darn and the doctor said there was a 50 % chance if I didn't talk to Chad for 1 month. Wellllll I didn't talk to him for a week. I needed a new string. Ohhh well.

Troy,

Born and raised in Cleveland. Family still lives there. I'm the black sheep and don't live there anymore<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>. Go Browns. Tried to do some bow hunting there a few years back when I had a project in Cleveland. Couldn't find a place to hunt. All the places I knew as a kid were subdivisions!

CTB,

Congratulations!! I sold my three compounds while my first trad bow, a T/D recurve made by a local bowyer, was being made. I was able to go to the local Archery Shop and practice with the owners bow, which was made by the same bowyer.

I, too, have been bitten by the Chad bug. First I bought a Chek-Mate Firebird T/D Recurve, which I subsequently gave to my son. And then I bought a Chek-Mate Crusader one piece longbow. SWWWEEEETTT shooting bow. It was everything Chad said it was, and then some!!

I'm getting ready to start putting some walls up in my garage so I can make myself a little garage so I can make my own laminated longbows. Some I'll sell, some I'll keep, some I'll...HAVE FUN!!!

Bill
