Have to agree with the comments on the Martin and stacking. At my 30" draw it felt like I hit a wall after 29". It was however a very nice looking bow and fairly smooth shooting, despite the stacking. I'd talk to Chad, as he has a used Martin in excellent condition he may want to sell.

Forgot to mention that you may want to talk to Chad about Chek mate bows. I am in your position and just got in to traditional in the past 3 to 4 months. This forum and Chad talked very highly of Chek mate bows. I talked to many bowyers and then Chad. I purchased a Crusader longbow. I had a Martin Hunter and Viper longbow. The Crusader was awesome as compared to the other 2 bows. Needless to say I bought another Crusader last week. Two bows in 2 months. Talk to Chad about the bows he has you won't be sorry. Only problem is you'll be hooked and become a bow junkie. Next time you post Chad will have sold you a couple of new bows.

Be aware that Martin bows are generally 2 to 3 pounds heavier than marked on them(one reason they have a good reputation) they are well made. The old(pre 1970s)Bear bows usually had a weight number something like 45xx@28 this meant within 2 lbs of 45 (47)
Both bows shoot well up to 29" draw. Both bows will stack beyond that length.

they are both good bows, but if you are starting out, i'm sure you could find a good used grizzly for less than a hunter, as there is a lot of them floating around, and just as good in my opinion.
