Default expandable broadheads with a recurve?

I am going to use expandable broadheads with my recurve? Is this a good idea?

Before you do make sure your bow has enough kinetic energy to get them opened up. I have never heard of anyone using them. Most use a cut on contact head and I will too. I am new to traditional and I'm not sure but it doesn't seem like a good fit to me. I think folks use good cut on contact fixed blades for a reason.

Personally I wouldn't. Seems like they were designed more for compounds which can be so finicky with tuning. You should find that when you have your recurve tuned properly that thefield tipswill fly very much with the broadheads. Fletched/Unfletched/Fletched Broadhead arrows should all have the same POI.

Personally I wouldn't use an expandable, even from a compound, on anything bigger than a turkey or coyote. Moving parts means more chance for something to go wrong, plus the lost/wasted energy which equates to less penetration.

that is not always true. My fixed blades in my compound dont penetrate at all compared to my expandables.
