Personally, I leave my recurves strung. However I always unstring my longbows. I hand my bows by the riser whether strung or unstrung.

Some believe that any laminant bow can be left strung. However, I usually take the individuals bowyers advice. My advice to you is to ask the bowyer of the specific bow in question.

I keep both the recurve and longbow strung. I wouldn't a self bow, but don't believe on the glass backed bows that it will matter.

I choose to follow the manufacturers' advice, along with fine gentlemans' who sold me my bow, and store my recurve strung and hung by the fade outs.

i've had some bad experience leaving the bow strung...it was a cheapo takedown recurvepse impala that already had a little twist and it twisted more when i left it strung for about a week straight...but i think the very high humidity could have effected it as well....either way i plan on leaving mine unstrung....that way you dont have to worry about kids/people messin when you arent lookin.
