Yep, I done lost it today and went and traded off my Bob lee on a longbow. As some of you know I've been lookin' at a Crusader but I just can't shoot those handles I don,t know, they just don't fit me.Then it happened-I picked up a Groves Firebird I and took a few shots and WHAMO!The thing just felt right there-alomst from the first shot I was shooting and hitting right where I was aiming. The bow has a small recurve type grip is 66"(how you ever get this thing up a tree I don't know) 57#@28".I brought the long bow home from Greg's G&M Archery and did some shooting-it shoots my 30.5" 2018's like darts. Now here is the funny part during my shooting session I shot better than I ever have(at 20 yd I was able to hit a 1.5" square paper with 3 consuctive shots--thats good for me for sure)The bow is almost soundless at release-something that I am not used to.Ever pick up a bow and it just talks to you, like you know that it just is what you've been looking for?Sounds kind of hokie I know but I'm havin' fun! Long bows rule! Cam
I guess I am going to have to pick up a longbow. Income tax return time is coming up....he he. I might get a Northern Mist if I get a longbow. I have shot them extensively (we used to have two on display at Gander Mountain, shot them when I should have been working) and I liked it. Wish I would have bought one then, I could have gotten one made for $200. I think they are normally $350. Maybe I will look on the used market for some bows also.
Str8-I traded Bob lee sig. takedown recurve-54#@28"-Amo 62". I'm sure that I lost money on the deal but you know how it goes.I felt that the bow was loud and very heavy,I sort of liked it at first cause it was different but after shooting it for a few months it just didn't compare to my Check-Hunter II at all,and I no longer wanted to shoot it. So I'm off on a new adventure, my first longbow in almost 35 years! Cam
