Glad you're alright, man. You should contact the stand company, 'cause I don't think ladder stands are supposed to do that! Now you can change your handle from plywood to stand bender . It makes sense that it took a while for the pain to sit in. The fluid won't get there right away, but when it does it'll be sore. If you go work out, and are out of shape, you'll be sore to next morning. I can't really explain why, but I can understand that it happened. Too bad about that buck too. You should definitely have your shoulder checked while in the ER to make sure you didn't tear anything serious.

God bless,
Brandan

Oh yeah, you're supposed to put the harness on BEFORE you fall

Man alive Carl--hate to hear that, but glad you weren't hurt any worse than you were. Better get yourself to a doc and get checked out--just in case. Too dang old to be playing spider man.

Get yourself healed up, go get that buck, then come tell us all about it.

Carl you were lucky indeed. Had you done a flip and landed on your head there would have been no problem as we all know how hard headed you are. Always remember, firstest thing you do when you get into a tree stand is put on your safety belt. Gald it was only bruises and not busted legs or back or what ever. Live and learn. Be careful out there!

Carl:
Be thankful you're not an old fart like a lot of us here. I can guarantee if this had happened when you were in your 50s, you'd be out for the entire season! Makes my poor old knees ache just thinking about it!

Well hey Carl. Long time no see. I'd ask how you've been, but...ah well...HOW'VE YOU BEEN?

By the way, m wife still says she'll get you back for stalking her at work like that. Oh...she doesn't know where you hunt either.

Had a bit of a fun day up here in WI myself. Busted two deer getting in this morning, and watched three more go strolling by. Changed stand locations to set up on a scrape line this afternoon. Had a nice six-pointer give me a chip-shot at 3:30 this afternoon...and I hosed it. Still haven't figured out how, I messed it up. He's a little smarter than he used to be, but alright.

Going out tomorrow morning to entertain the wildlife some more. You take care of that ankle and arm. I don't want any excuses the next time we shoot together.
