Default PICS,How do ya get blood off of an arrow??

Well I got lucky, sunday night found some birds with a locator call and the next day set up perfect. He came out of his tree at 6:15 and stayed at about 60 yards, just going crazy. We keeped up our conversation for around 45 min, then all of a suden he was gone. Before I know it he came out of the woods in front of me with a jake. The both came in turned and faced the jake decoy, thats when I shoot. He went about ten yards and fell, all over. The guy I was hunting with was about 200 yards up the hill and he said he heard the arrow hit the bird. The arrow went in about half way, it hit the wing, back bone and alittle bit of the hart and lungs.Lots of fun.

Nope, couldnt find a blind big enuf, ad in my price range. I set up at the edge of a feild in some pines that worked just as well as a blind. The only thing was I had to wait for the birds to turn so I could draw.

I forgout to say I shoot it at around 6 yards. My decoys were at 9.

I wash my arrows with formula 88 degreaser and the feathers with hydrogen peroxide.

Congrats nice bird.

Thanks, I am vary happy with it, first time ever going after turks.

It had a 6in beard, ya can see it in the pic if ya look real close. The spurs were just under 1in. I dont know how heavy he was, we cleaned him right away because it was getting warm and we wanted to get back out.

The rest of the trip I got to call for someone else and got lots of practice in. We had a few give us alittle chatter but none came in.

One of the coolest things is the lack of confidence all the guys had in me and my bow and how supprised they were when I shoot my bird. They were all vary happy for me.

I am hooked on turks now.

Way to go Guss! Man, if you can get a turkey with no blind, a deer should be easy! Congrats on a job well done!
