Well I got my Turkey tag for the first hunt of the spring. Picked up a box and mouth call and am awsome with both, at least I think I so, we will see what the birds think. Oldgirl isgoneon spring brake so I have beenpracticing alotwith no one to tell me to shutup, cant imagine what all the other people in the bilding think.

I am looking for a blind but cant find anything big enuf, my budy has one that I have yet to shoot out of so there is still hope.

Man, I am just so excitesd, never huntd turkes before.I never realy wanted to untell I started shooting the old long bow.

The Ameristep Penthouse is plenty big enough, and reasonably priced. It's big enough for me to shoot a 66" longbow with my son in it with me. I'm 6'2" or 6'3", and my sonis around 5'. That's including two small chairs and he had his bow also. The shoot through netting is great, but it can play tricks on you when the light is low (looks darker than it is from inside).

I got mine on e-bay for less than $200. (I don't remember the actual price, but I don remember it was less than $200, shipped).

LBR, those are sweet blinds and plenty big enuf, but I dont have that kindove money right now. I looked at one on sale at Gander Mt for around $200, vary nice. Gander also had some of the Dog House blinds for around $30 but they are just not big enuf. Man all there stuf like that was on sale, they have a Lone wolf climbing stand on sale for around $190, I think they go for $300 + normaly.I would be alover that if I had a use for a climber.

What do ya think of the digital camo theMariens use, a freind of mine gave me his camos from boat camp, as of right now that is the only warm weather camo I have. I realy dont want to have to get more.

No idea on the new camo--never seen it. If you are able to get a good blind, you can hunt in flourescent orange and it won't matter. Maybe you can find some cheap netting and build one that will work?

I believe our season starts next weekend.....or there abouts..... I'm not much of a turkey hunter, but I will probably go a few times, more to scout than anything.....

Another month or so and it will be time to start hanging stands for next deer season!!! Got to get it done before those 90 degree days hit!!

Whitecloud, I also live in MI and had to hope for a tag, but all worked out for me and I got the hunt I wanted. I dont think you will have a problem getting a bird, from what I have been told they are all over in your area.

LBR good idea, and I think I have some burlap from last deer season.

DC,you is nutz, do you hunt private land? Were I hunt in MI (Timber CO land and State) we cant hang stands tell the first day of bow season, not cool.
