Default Two Days Amongst the Hardwoods

My son called me from Buford, GA yesterday to let me know he was in the woods and had harvested a 5 pt buck with his bow. I was in the hardwoods myself.

All I have to show for it though is some very sore muscles, and about 40% of my flooring project complete in my house. You see, the hardwoods I have been amongst are red oak hardwood floors.

It has been 37 years since I last laid a hardwood floor. The mind still knows what to do. But the body is complaining about the ups and downs and the crawling around. About 3 more evenings and I'll be through laying the floors.

That is a new perspective of beings "amongst the hardwoods"!

I was at a buddies the other day who was working on his floor. He had on a pair of knee pads that roller bladers wear- I tried them- incredible!<img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>

Mike,

Believe me I am taking it easy. I have my son-in-law, who is 27, helping me.

Capt Jack,

I think it would take me longer to bend over my big ole belly to put the knee pads on and take them off again than it would to just suffer through. It is not the skin that is hurting. It is my old joints that have just about zero cartilage in them due to way too many years of playing, full tilt, full court basketball!
