fletching jigs

I'm interested in purchasing a fletching jig that could handle, wood, carbon and alunimun arrows for arecurve bow. What would be a good source of information forlearning about differant tools?Do you have any specific recomendations on anything that would help me get started in this area?

The best I've ever used is the Bitzenburger--you can fletch any arrow with it, and it's tough. I also like the BPE Pro--not quite as user friendly, but also a very good jig and cheaper than the Bitz. If you use fletching tape, you will only need one.

The Jo-Jan Multi-Fletcher works good on most arrows, but with wood they need to be very straight. Put only one arrow in first, until you get it adjusted correctly; else you will have 6 messed up fletches instead of one if you don't get it right the first time.

I don't like the Arizona E-Z fletch. It's been several years since I used one, so maybe they have improved.

The Grayling Jig works bot not as well as the Bitzenburger.

What Guss said- I used a Grayling next to a Bitz last week- the Bitz was the bits! And with tape you only need one jig anyway.

Lone Wolf Traditional Archery has the following:

Bitzenburger--$65
Jo-Jan Mono Fletcher--$38
Jo-Jan Multi Fletcher--$95
Greyling--$32

3 Rivers has them for a few dollars more, plus the following:

BPE Pro--$53.50
J-8 by Martin--$37.95
Fletch III Jig--$22.95

I'm no pro by any stretch, and I don't build arrows for the public, but over the years I figure I've fletched a few thousand at least. One thing I've learned is you are better off paying more for a good fletching jig vs. dealing with the aggravation after saving a few bucks.

Take care of it andthe Bitz. should last a lifetime.

To tell you the truth, I have only used a Bitz and have never had any trouble with it.

I only have 1 Bitz and it works, but it takes me a while to fletch 12 arrows. If you are going to be making alot of arrows the Jo-Jan multi works well, I have a freind who loves his jo.

Guss, if you use fletching tape or quick drying glue, your problem will be solved.
