A 2018 might be small, but it's no lightweight. It's an excellent arrow for hunting.
I've shot carbon arrows from my bows and, frankly, I hate the things. Too light in weight, so you have to add weight to them to keep the bow from rattling your teeth and sounding like someone slapping two boards together. After trying for two years to get some weight system that wasn't a pain in the nether regions, I gave up on 'em.
I was eventually pointed in the direction of Carbon Express Terminators. I use the Select version. They are made from a fiberglass/carbon composite. Benefits: Not too heavy, not too light. Straighter andmore consistent in spine and weight than any all-carbon arrow that is in the same price range.More durable than any ICS-type carbon I've ever shot. Same internal component/tuneable nock style as ICS carbons.
I have yet to figure out a downside to the Terminators. Well, except they aren't wood.
Used to be I shot wood arrows as a change from aluminum. Now I shoot mostly wood and shoot the Terminators for a change of pace. I honestly haven't bought aluminum arrows since I started shooting them. The guys who shoot with me, and know how much I hate carbon arrows, still can't believe it. I've tried to explain to them they aren't carbon, but fiberglass with SOME carbon in 'em, but the message just doesn't seem to get thru...
