Default My New Black Douglas Riser

Sid sent me a couple pics of my riser (hanging in the paint booth at Border Bows). It should ship by weeks end & I feel like a kid the week before Christmas!! Here's one pic of it:

Man alive Vic--that's too pretty to shoot! What woods? What's different about this one? And will you adopt me, or at least leave your bows to me if I outlive you?[8D]

It's shedua w/a cocobola diamondwood flair, & it's the first Border I've owned, so I guess you could say that everything is different. Hehe.

Hey...I don't have that many bows these days, only 5-6 left & this oneis my last bow purchase. Hmmm, I told Karen that & she laughed...??!!

Duhhhh......I took it as you were getting another riser for a bow you already had--that's why I asked what was different.

Nice shedua--I was guessing either shedua or zebrawood, but wasn't sure--sometimes it's hard to tell apart.

"Only" 5-6 he says.....but he left out the part where the combined cost of them would make a down-payment on a nice house! Last one? Yeah, right! And I'm going on a diet![:'(]

Yepper Double Creek, it'll have 64", 55# @ 30" HexIV recurve limbs. Shooting my Beman ICS 400's, should be a screamer.

Chad, some may think I have too much money tied up in my bows, guitars, & my motorcycle, but I'm very verypassionate about those things (although not particularly good at em[:@]) & we're all alotted only a short time here to enjoy ourselves. (you only go around once) Averaging 65+ hrs a week at work puts my leisure time at an even greater premium than most, so I ain't about to cut corners.- Call me insane, 'cause I'm just crazy about archery! Hehehe.

I don't blame you Vic--you can't take it with you, so you might as well enjoy it.

Ya know Chad, sounds like I'm loaded from your last post. Man I wish I was! Actually I'm just a po' boy & have to pinch pennies where I can. For instance, Ihad to dothe electrical, plumbing, & septic systemhook-up on ourplace last year (couldn't afford the expense of hiring it out), & recently ordered a dumptruck load of dirt (14 tons) & went to work (in my "spare" time) w/a wheelbarrow, a shovel, & a rakeback-filling around the foundation to avoid the expense of hiring a backhoe, box-blade, etc. That was hard work & if I'd had themeans I sure would've opted to hire a professional crew to do it.We've been here over a year now & I'm still saving up for a front porch/sidewalk, & a back deck. It'll come with time & hard work.

No, Idon't have much money, but there are some things Irefuse toscrimp on. Life is just too short.
