Default What a beautiful bow

Pic says it all-

It's a Chapparal Archery Kaibab. R/D longbow, 60-64". I think Cocobola riser and maple limb lams under brown glass. Anyone ever shot one?

Can't tell anything about the limbs, but I'd have guessed the risers are bubinga. I haven't shot one, but I have heard good things about them.

I double checked, but it says cocobola.

How similar is this to the Chekmate crusader?

I don't doubt they are cocobolo, I just would have guessed them to be bubinga due to the color and figure. That can vary quite a bit, especially in those woods.

They are a big different than the Crusader--the Chapparal has a more radical limb design, and the grips look to be much straighter. The standard grip on the Crusader is what most would probably call "semi-recurve). It it dished and has a slight palm swell. Maybe not the most "traditional" grip for a longbow, but the most comfortable and naturalI've ever held in any bow. I've had a 60" Crusader made, but normally they come in 62" to 68".
