Default Ben Pearson Recurve

Cleaning out the attic, I discovered an old Ben Pearson recurve of my grandfathers - looked up the model number and got some info - made in 1968 and it's a takedown model. I was thinking of stringing it up and giving her a shoot. Will this thing still perform well and what's it worth?

Default RE: Ben Pearson Recurve

If its a Ben Pearson Signiature, with the aluminum take-down system, I wouldn't shoot it. That's one of the few Pearsons that have some collector's value, and I've heard that they had problems with them later on--the epoxy didn't hold to the almuninum very well over time.

No idea on the value--I have one myself, with the original box and paperwork, two original strings, nock sets, and armguard--I'd like to find out more myself.
