Default Has anyone made their own longbow?

Has anyone here MADE their own longbow??
If so ,tell us how to go about doing it.
What kind of wood,how long in proportion to your size,ect..?


I've been thinking about trying to make one and would like
some pointers,and maybe try and benifit from someones
mistakes.

i made one once i used vine maple for the body and i used tying twine for the string...it hadabout a 20 pound draw [8D]

I'm talking about something to hunt with,
at least 45 lbs draw.Just enough to take a dear in my state.

I'm planning on making my own recurve this winter. My dad made 2 when he was back in high school so he's probably going to be helping me make mine. If you wantplans for making a bow just go to Bingham Projects below.
