I could have sat in a pair of shorts and a tanktop, camo of course. I got my last stand in the tree by 2pm on sat (opening day) and was so hot and dried out I spent the rest of the day in the lake. SunI headed up to camp with a freind who just got back from Iraq, didnt plane on hunting at all but managed to stalk within 15 yards of a doe and fawn, the stalk lasted around 45 min. It was cool to have my freind there, I never planed on shooting either deer, so it was all in good fun. They must havecaught our wind, and man did they take off.I think the first day I will get in a tree will besat morning, one stand has some deer coming in the others look to be rather cold, but that alwees changes when the rut hits
well i hope everyone is have fun and putting all that practice to work, go get um.
It has been a scorcher here too. Thankfully a cold front is going to pass through tonight with temps forcasted to be in the upper 50's the next few mornings. I'll bet your friend who was in Iraq was glad to be home !
Only been in the high 80's/low 90's here in MS. Several of my buds have been seeing deer, some have already got meat in the freezer, but I've only been out once so far. Good news is I'm almost caught up, and unless I get swamped again I'll be sittin and sweatin soon! Plan to do some more scouting tomorrow, and maybe even get in a stand tomorrow afternoon. Whoo-hoo!
