RE: For my 13 year old whats good
I agree with Mike that it depends a lot on what your son wants and what he's capable of. From a technical standpoint, I've shot the PSE Nova and was pleased with it. For the money, it's a great deal. If he'd like to try a compound, then I'd definitely suggest having him try it out. Another compound I shot that I really liked was a Reflex. I'm not sure what the name of it was though. It may have been the Denali because it looked similar to it; however I'm not sure. That was a real nice bow and super fast, little noise and little handshock. That was without a proper setup so if it was set up and tuned with vibration dampening products it'd probably be even nicer. It was a little pricier though, I think it was around $400, but had been marked down at the time. If he'd like to try trad, you can get some nice Bear recurves on Ebay for around $100. You could also check out the old Ben Pearsons and Shakespears. I haven't had any experience with the latter two, but I've heard good things about them. Make sure it makes him happy though 'cause if he isn't having fun then he won't want to continue.
God bless,
Brandan
