Default String length question

Any idea what length of string for a 58" recurve. What about brace height? The one that came with it is a little less than 54" endless loop. Not near as sweet as one of LBR's flemish twists.

Default RE: String length question

Depends on the bow--what kind is it? Most of the older ones get a string 4" shorter than the AMO bow length, but with the newer ones it can be a shot in the dark. Can't go by AMO even on some of the older ones--an old Herter's I had got a string 6" shorter than the AMO.

Thanks for the good word!

Chad

LBR,
The bow is a mid 1960's Red Wing hunter with the small tips

That one should get a 54" string, or real close to it (I think).
