You remember how I wasn't shooting very good with my longbow recently? The bow felt like it had gained 10 pounds of draw weight and wasn't shooting anywhere near consistent for me. It was fighting me and I was fighting it.
Well, not being one to quit and leave a challenge unaccepted, I had to get it out again. Decided it needed a complete tuneup. So, I was measuring stuff and, lo and behold, the brace height was 7/8" inch too high. To top that off, I had put a leather wrap on the handle, which added nearly 1/8" to the belly side of the grip, so that made the brace actually a full inch higher than it was before I put the wrap on! [:-]
Then I remembered. The same day I'd put the wrap on, I had twisted the string up a lot to give me more clearance when I was replacing the serving. I never dropped the brace height back where it was supposed to be. DUH![:@]
I'd gotten so used to not having to mess with this bow's tune that I completely forgot about tuning it. The bow is shooting fine now.
Nice to know that even the old pro's are human too! Glad you got it figured out Art!

Still gonna be the recurve. I'm ready with it. With only 5 weeks left till opening day, I don't want to get into a race with time to get my confidence level fully back up to speed with my longbow. Pressure is one thing I certainly don't need right now. Longbow will definitely have some bunny hunting chores before long though.
