Cops Take Down Deer with M-15 Assault Rifle...
Police in Town & Country, Missouri (a suburb of St. Louis) had to take down a very big, very aggressive 10-point buck with an M-15 (!!!) after officers fired three shots at it with a handgun and the beast was still standing!
All this happened inside a HOME DEPOT that the deer hand trotted into.....
Talk about overpopulation!
Here's the story....

i was wondering about that too, but i found this on Wikipedia---
Today, the "M-15" designation is used as a marketing name for certain civilian variants of the M16 rifle, particularly the ones manufactured by ArmaLite.
so i guess it's your good ol' m-16

This winter the city intends to hire sharpshooters to cull the male population of deer. The city also plans to sterilize several hundred doe.

I grew up near there and since I left there are stories like this every year. In fact, I almost hit a 6 or 8 pointer on the way to my parents a couple years ago and never had seen one in the twenty or so years prior. The area is almost entirely subdivisions for miles. Every timeI can rememberanyonementioning a managed hunt, residents freak out against it. It is too bad, I think they have been doing the sterilzation and sharp shooter 'method' for a few years if I remember corrrectly. People don't want to hit deer with their cars, but don't want one bleeding out in their yard either, I guess. Too bad
