RE: Problem with Blazers, getting them to stick
This is what I do and I have never had any vane or feather not stick to any carbon shaft I have fletched, including Carbon Express, Gold tip, Beman & Easton, blackhawk, as well as aluminum.
Wipe down the shaft with a clean water damp rag only then fletch the shafts.
Do not sand down the shaft. Sanding only leaves very fine particles of carbon dust behind and hinders adhesion. Even after cleaning.
Do not clean the base of the vane (blazers) with anything.
For adhesives I prefer the instand glues. I have used AAE fast set gel, goat tuff, quantum, and zap-a-gap all with success with all types of vanes. Use only enough to do the job. Excess amounts of "super" glues will also hinder adhesion and lengthen curing time.

It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president."
