Default Problem with Blazers, getting them to stick

I know its been metioned before, but i'd like to find out what everyone else is using for glue with the Blazer vanes. For the life of me, I can't get them to stick all that well, very often. I've tried a couple different kinds of glue, but nothing really seems to work as well as when I was fletching AAE plastifletch with AAE glue.

I prep my shafts by lightly scuffing, cleaning with denatured alchohol and then fletching. I also went to using wraps too, and still no better.

Is there any truth to the fact that they are treated to work with Bohning glues or a select couple glues? I know my buddy is using the bohning platinum with good success, but I'd really like to stick with the super glue style adhesives.

I also like to after treating the shafts with Denatured Alc clean them with Dawn Dish soap and water to remove any body oils from my handling of the shaft and remove any residue of the chemicals left on the shaft.... I have been using the Bohn Platinum to adhere my Blazer Vanes to my Goldtip Ultra Lite Pro Shafts. I have been very pleased with the results. the Platinum seems to not dry so brittle as the their other glue did and seems to me to hold the vanes very well. I think much better than there other fletch adhesive. I love goat tuff but it seems to much a pain to remove some times so I have been trying the Bohn Platinum.

This is what I do and I have never had any vane or feather not stick to any carbon shaft I have fletched, including Carbon Express, Gold tip, Beman & Easton, blackhawk, as well as aluminum.

Wipe down the shaft with a clean water damp rag only then fletch the shafts.

Do not sand down the shaft. Sanding only leaves very fine particles of carbon dust behind and hinders adhesion. Even after cleaning.

Do not clean the base of the vane (blazers) with anything.

For adhesives I prefer the instand glues. I have used AAE fast set gel, goat tuff, quantum, and zap-a-gap all with success with all types of vanes. Use only enough to do the job. Excess amounts of "super" glues will also hinder adhesion and lengthen curing time.

I prepped my carbons exactly as you did Muzzy and fletched mine with the Bohning Platinum glue. No problems whatsoever.
