My little guy is six years old and shooting a Parker Jr. Mag. They come in draw weights of 20,30 and 40 pounds. Draw length from 19 to 24 inches with modules being changed. His is set at 18#, 19", 1516 Jazz, and it zips along around 120 fps. Keeps him going and his interest stays. Shooting a bow just like the big guys!

As long as kids are having fun shooting, I don't care if I shoot bad

My son has outgrown his Golden Eagle and we have a High Country Quad Runner on order. If the jr. bows are as tough as my last few HCA bows he will be shooting it for a while.

How old?

My nine year-old enjoys shooting his Golden Eagle Brave. My 14 year old has a Browning Micro Adrenaline 35-50# and adjusts from 22-27 in draw. It spits them out pretty good.

Mathews Genesis looks like a good beginner youth bow. It has no specific draw length and is adjustable from 10 to 20 pds. I'm thinking about getting my 8 year old one for Christmas.

Parker Chalenger or the Pearson Stinger are both real good bows for the young ones.

PSE makes an excellent kids bow, It is adjustable from 17# to 45#
it has a machined riser and the draw length has somthing like an eight
inch adjustment. My daughter loves hers, She is 10 will be 11 in october, Can't hunt in michigan till 12 but by that time she will be ready.
Also if the bow goes to 45# she can use the same bow for hunting,
with some good small diameter broadheads. It cost about $225 though.

Biggest problem I have with the youth bows is finding a left-handed model. Have taken my kid to a few pro-shops but not a single one has stocked a lefty model. Sucks!
