Default Goldtip arrow vane question

I have a few Goldtip hunter and XT's arrows I shoot. I'm new to archery so thats why I dont know the answer to this question. I bought them already having #3 4" vanes with insert and nock already on them. My question is, the duravane fletching that comes on them, is it considered a helical vane. the vanes do have a right twist but another guy I talked to says they are not helical because they dont have "enough" twist to them. I'm really confused, could someone please help me out on this?

Default RE: Goldtip arrow vane question

If they have any twist at all, that is helical, by definition. However, maybe it is not a twist, maybe it is offset. Offset won't twist around the arrow, rather, it will go "diagnally" across the arrow. In other words, the front of the vane will set to the left or right of the rear of the vane, not in a perfectly straight line.
