RE: setting up my bow
Not knowing the type of cams, I will give you a very general guideline. Nocking point should start out with the arrow at 90 degrees to the string and the arrow passing at the same level as the Berger Button hole in the riser. Test through paper to see if it's close.
The easiest way to obtain center shot is to start by centering it by eye. Extend the riser in front of you, with an arrow nocked. Hold the bow so the string in centered with both limbs. Then move the rest in or out until the arrow tip appears in-line with the string. This usually is in the area of 3/4" to 7/8" from the riser. Then get it exact by shooting at 20 yards and then re-shooting at 40 yards for comparison. If at 40 yards the arrows are left or right of the ones at 20 yards, you micro-adjust the rest accordingly. Re-test until you get arrows impacting at both distances in the same vertical plane (not left or right of those at 20 yards). Even a beginner should be able to do this whole process withing 30 minutes.
As a side note, make sure you arrow spine is stiff enough for your bow. Do not totally rely on mfgr recommendations for this. With different style cams, varying drawlengths vs braceheights, this can be quite different from what you might expect.
