Default Feather Displacement

I am shooting a 31" carbon arrow with 4" feathers through a NAP pro 2000 rest. A friend & I were shooting the other day and he noticed that my feathers we messed up a little after I shot the arrow.

At first we thought I was hitting my riser a little but it was not always the same feather that was messed up. I had paper tuned the arrows and I still have really good groups.

Any idea what this could be??

Gotta ask the obvious. Are you shooting through the target or is someone gripping the feathers when you pull the arrows? If not then my guess is it's hitting the cable or the rest. Not being the same feather doesn't make sense to me to have it be the cable or rest.

My feathers always seem to be messed up when I shoot. I think I'd be messed up too, flying at 250+ ft/sec and stopping in the 4 inches an arrow goes into the target. Jim

I'm with 2eagles on this'n. I've had feathers get ruffled just from the arrow slamming into the target at 270 fps, especially when they've been shot some and get softened up.

Thanks guys. I had not thought of that. I realy did not want to change anything with 3 weeks before the season started.
